So quick background I am from Dominican Republic I was born there and I came here when I was 10 years old so I don’t come from much money. I am now 18 and I started to transition almost a year ago and the more I’ve been transitioning the more I have realize that it is unsafe for me to go out and live my truth without facial feminization surgery. Being a black trans woman I have a huge target on my back as it is, but it’s a lot harder when you can’t pass. At first in the beginning of my transition I thought I wasn’t going to get any surgeries or anything but I quickly realized that for me and my transition it’s a necessity. If you can’t donate that’s completely ok, I know that some people just can’t. I am one of those people, every time I see my trans sisters with a fund me account I want to donate so bad but then I have to worry about what I’m going to eat the next day. Hi my name is Lotus and I’m a 23-year-old black/filipino trans woman who’s trying her best to get an education in the arts. 

i’m facing financial hardships because my job pays me fucking dust and I have to spend so much money on healthcare it’s not even funny. Every week I spend 40 dollars on therapy and at the moment I owe 130 dollars to my therapist’s office. I also have to pay to get a proper ADHD evaluation, to see my psychiatrist for my medication, and transportation to and from all of these appointments. Not to mention the costs of medically transitioning, which I can only assume will become even more difficult given our current political climate. I’m currently looking for other work and trying to see what kind of govt assistance I can get for my disability. On top of going to school it’s such a pain to have to make time for all of this and make payments on time as well, let alone perform basic self-care like feeding myself. I could really use the support right now. 

There are so many of you following this blog that If I got just a dollar from each of you I’d be set for months. So please please consider helping me out. If you can give big, great. My hometown (Balikpapan) was literally accros the sea from this city. when this happened, some of my friends told me they could actually feel the earthquack from there.

It was started with 7,7 magnitude earthquack and continued with a 10-18 Feet tsunami. So far it’s been reported that 384 died and 540 Injured, research still continues.

My sympathy goes to the people from Palu, Danggola & Mamuju, especially to the families of those who have lost their lives, to the injured and to all who have been affected by this terrible disaster
